24 march 2010 - Greater Manchester, Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, Stretford tram stop. I like the Altrincham route mainly for how much mainline railway is still left over out there. The Metrolink was created as a link between the two mainline stations (Piccadilly and Victoria), with two routes out into the suburbs (to Bury and Altrincham), which were taken away from the railways. With those two routes, they just slapped on some OHLE (the Bury line was already electrified with 1500V DC third rail) and got some high-floor trams to run on the route. Only now is investment starting to pour into the tracks and stations and - if you look at the edges of this picture - they sure need it.

12 july 2010 - Manchester (GB). Skład 1016+1026 wtacza się na węzłową stację Cornbrook. Co 2-3 pociąg Bury - Altrincham obsługiwany był przez dwuwagonowy zestaw. Pomysł dobry, ale wykonanie nienajlepsze - brak informacji o dodatkowym wagonie powodował, że ludzie i tak pakowali się do pierwszego, gdzie panował tłok, podczas gdy w drugim do dyspozycji były miejsca leżące.

12 july 2010 - Altrincham (GB), odc. Altrincham - Navigation Road. Pociąg ruszył własnie z ostatniej stacji południowej trasy Metrolinka i teraz czeka go podróż przez całą aglomerację aż do Bury. Końcowy fragment linii do Altrinchcham biegnie równolegle do regionalnej linii kolejowej i z uwagi na brak miejsca jest częściowo jednotorowy. Kiedyś pociągi mogły zresztą jechać do centrum Manchesteru na wprost, po obecnych torach tramwajowych, dziś muszą robić sporego zawijasa przez Stockport.
