24 march 2012 - Gent/Ghent (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Gentbrugge. This is the original Ghent PCC from 1971, retained as a ‘pet’ and restored to original condition. Behind can be seen many of the large fleet of PCCs, some of which no longer see regular use. What a shame it will be when these are gone.....

24 march 2012 - Gent/Ghent (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Gentbrugge. One of the two very unusual, three-axle trams from 1930 that are retained in Ghent for special duties, along with a trailer from the same period. This tram was previously on the de Lijn coast line.

24 march 2012 - Gent/Ghent (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Gentbrugge. A glimpse inside the depot, where rows of PCCs wait for a call to service that might never come again. These trams, although quite old and of high-floor layout, are in exceptionally good condition and must surely be of interest to another system with metre-gauge tracks? Note that many have been modified with air conditioning units on the roof.

24 march 2012 - Gent/Ghent (BE) – depot/zajezdnia Gentbrugge. One of the many classic Belgian PCC trams dating from the early 1970s which still run in Ghent, although their time must now be limited as many more new Hermelijn low-floor cars come into service. On the day I visited, there was only one PCC actually running in service, all other routes being operated by the new, low-floor trams. Note that this one has kept it original Ghent fleet number – all trams are now in a series beginning 62nn.

24 march 2012 - Gent/Ghent (BE) – Sint-Veerle Plein. A Hermelijn articulated, low-floor tram outside the castle entrance in Ghent. These trams now operate most of the traffic here and the classic PCCs are relegated to secondary duties. I was interested to see the Ghent tramway again after a gap of several years – some lines are still broken as the city continues to dig, with the apparent intention of creating the biggest underground car parks in Europe – what a mess! Also, the trolleybus wiring is still there in many places, even though the service finished in 2009.

7 july 2010 - Gandawa (BE), Burgstraat. Dalej jedynka nie pojedzie. Z powodu wykopków na starówce kończyła bieg tymczasowo tutaj, na przystanku "Gravensteen" czyli "Zamek Hrabiowski" - nazwanym od jednego z zabytków, którego kawałek widać w tle po lewej.

Podobnie jak i na 21 i 22, obsługę stanowiły obie generacje gandawskich wagonów, co jak widać oznaczało spore wahania podaży miejsc w zależności od brygady. Tylko na jedynce oraz linii tymczasowej spotkałem w 100% niskacze.

Wszystkie linie między centrum a dworcem przerzucono na równoległą trasę, w zamian uruchomiono linię zastępczą, która wracała z centrum po widocznym tu tymczasowym jednokierunkowym odcinku.
